Astrid & Miyu is a young London based contemporary British jewellery brand, which embraces class and edge. Its pieces are unique yet versatile, edgy yet classic, glamorous yet subtle. Astrid & Miyu make beautifully crafted jewellery that reflects the juxtaposition of class and edge which is at the core of London style.
Since its launch in 2012, the brand has quickly gained cult status among fashion editors, influential bloggers and celebrities. Its pieces are featured in top UK publications, including Vogue, Elle, Grazia, Stylist, and Marie Claire; and celebrities such as Pippa Middleton, Georgia May Jagger, Rochelle Humes and Jessie J have all been spotted wearing their pieces.
Astrid is a Swedish name and Miyu is a Japanese name, and they both mean ‘beautiful’ in their languages. Its designs are created in the brand's London studios. The brand embodies Nordic minimalism, Japanese craftsmanship, and London edge and sophistication. Of note, is that Astrid & Miyu was shortlisted for the 'Brand to watch' at the UK Jewellery Awards in 2015.
Astrid and Miyu Founder
Connie Nam, founder of Astrid & Miyu, comes from many years of career background of luxury branding and investment banking. She grew up between Washington D.C. and Seoul, has built her career in Hong Kong before moving to London to attend London Business School. The diverse background Connie has is at the core of Astrid & Miyu, which embodies both European and Asian aesthetics and spirit. She currently resides in London, and travels frequently around the world to find inspiration.
Over the past few years, Connie has been awarded a number of achievements including 'HOT100' by Professional Jewellery (2015), 'Ones to watch' by Management Today (2014) and was the 'Smarta 100' winner for the Female Entrepreneur category (2014).
London Design
Astrid & Miyu's jewellery design and branding are created in their London studios. Its creative team is led by jewellery designer Dian Luo, a graduate of the prestigious Central St. Martin’s, and brand designer Lucia Picerno, Goldsmith’s graduate with many years of branding experience. Its aesthetics are driven by minimalism, geometry and architecture. They believe in subtle adornment, and strive to create pieces that are suitable any wardrobe or occasion. Once designed in their London office, they use a combination of 3D-printing and traditional hand crafting methods of manufacturing the unique and eclectic jewellery.
