British fashion designer Henry
Holland is collaborating this Spring/Summer season (SS17) with Habitat to
launch his new interiors collection. The limited edition designs features a series of artwork from the SS16 House of Holland season translated across
both textiles and upholstery.
Fantasy On Film
House
of Holland's SS16 collection was inspired by the 1970s casinos and hotels in Hunter
S. Thompson's book, and the 1998 cult, psychedelic film “Fear and Loathing in
Las Vegas”, and the collection for Habitat is very much based on this. House of Holland’s new collection of furniture and accessories for Habitat is a festival
of colour, pattern and fun.
Sofas, rugs, tableware and accessories
have been splashed with Holland’s secret weapon: unexpected colour combos and
eye-grabbing prints. Scarlet, tangerine, magenta and cobalt are set against a
more neutral base of khaki, green, Oxford blue and blush pink.
In Henry’s own words: "I love taking reference from films because I'm fascinated with the
characterisation of fashion and the way that you can build up an idea of a
person without even having the sound turned up."
After his breakthrough collection in 2006, Henry,
and his “House of Holland” label, have gone from strength to strength. Now, in
the brand’s 13th season, House of Holland is firmly established in the
international fashion arena, and in 2012 it was awarded a two-season fashion
forward sponsorship.
Henry designs with a London girl
aesthetic in mind, and he is continually inspired by the variety of attitudes,
cultures and mind-sets that exist throughout London. The House of Holland girl
is cool, confident and savvy, and wears labels without letting them wear her.
House of Holland now boasts an impressive roster of international premium
stockists, including Browns focus, Colette, Harvey Nichols, Lane Crawford,
Matches, Opening Ceremony, Emporium, Galeries Lafayette, Isetan, Net-a-Porter,
Tsvetnoy, It and Selfridges.
House of Holland x Habitat will be available exclusively from Habitat London flagship stores and habitat.co.uk from 01 March 2017.
