of free live music, workshops and live broadcasting.
Head down to the
free-entry Soho Music Month hub and exhibition space, ‘PLATFORM LDN’ at 3 Carnaby Street for a
variety of free events; think a Reprezent Radio residency with live broadcasts,
a panel event with GRM Daily, and exclusive book signings with legendary DJ
Jumping Jack Frost and BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s DJ Target, to name a few.
Get on your dancing shoes. Every Thursday evening throughout the
month of June, you can join in for ‘The Newburgh Quarter Sessions’, a series of
free outdoor gigs dedicated to showcasing the diversity of the London music
scene. You can join under ‘The Plug’ on Foubert’s Place in the Newburgh Quarter from
5-9pm for the hottest new upcoming talent and sunshine.
Want to get under the skin of Carnaby and Soho’s music scene? Be
sure to join in for a free guided walking tour exclusively for Soho Music
Month. You can find out which famous music magazine had their HQ on Carnaby, discover
where iconic rockers used to shop and gig in the area or find yourself
recreating the infamous (What’s the Story?) Morning Glory Oasis album cover on
Berwick Street.
Your favourite stores will be getting involved with loads of
exclusive launches and events throughout June, too. Be sure to head to Shinola who will be hosting ‘Bring Your Own Vinyl’
listening parties from 6-8pm on 21 and 28 June, and Filson will be holding ‘Campfire Music Sessions’ with
folk and soul artists in-store from 6-8pm on 14 & 28 June.
You may join G-Shock on Friday 15 June for their very own Hip-Hop rap
battle for the chance to win amazing prizes, plus help them celebrate their 1st
birthday on 21 June with music and freebies. You can listen to live music at Paul Smith
with live DJ sets in-store on Saturday 2 & 9 June, whilst MOSCOT
