Jewelry Designer - ALEXANDRINE NI

Born in China, Alexandrine Ni received arts education in the UK and is now London/Canton based.

Ni graduated from London's Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design with a BA (Hons) Degree in Jewellery Design in 2013. After working for leading fashion and jewellery houses including Alexander McQueen, Annoushka and Solange Azagury-Partridge, Ni set up her eponymous brand in 2016.

Through the valuable experience gained throughout those years, Ni developed a significant amount of knowledge in both fashion and fine jewellery areas, which gradually shaped Ni's signature aesthetic.

Through the combination of her fascination with classic oriental literature and arts, and her inspiration from nature and youth sub-cultures; a mixture of sensibility, strength and rebelliousness can always be sensed from Ni's works. Her current passion is mixed media pieces balancing traditional fine jewellery craftsmanship with innovative hand-crafted materials.

'Casting different flowers and plants in resin is my new hobby at the moment, every flower/plant has its own unique characteristics just like people, keeping that in mind you will start to imagine and fantasise when designing new pieces which is really interesting and challenging.

The whole idea of turning natural flowers/plants into jewellery and accessory pieces is like an adventure, you will never know what will catch your eyes next.' - Alexandrine Ni.
