OSMAN, the eponymous label from London-based Osman
Yousefzada, made its debut in 2007. Deeply rooted in the creative worlds
of both art and fashion, Osman’s unique architectural aesthetic and strong,
sculptural designs both flatter and celebrate the woman’s body, qualities which
have established the designer as one of London’s most exciting talents.
British born Osman Yousefzada studied at Central Saint Martin’s before going on to launch his own label, which soon after was nominated for the annual Designs of the Year award (2007) at the Design Museum, which features the best 100 designs internationally, selected from all design disciplines.

In February 2008 Yousefzada showed his collection for the
first time at London Fashion Week, when he was awarded NEWGEN
Sponsorship. This partnership continued for the following three
seasons. 2008 also saw the launch of Osman Yousefzadaʼs Little Black
Dress collection for Mango – a critically acclaimed collection, sold in over
203 stores and in 35 countries worldwide.
Osman was shortlisted for a
Frieze Art Award in 2014, and most recently, has seen shortlisted for the
BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, having previously been shortlisted in 2011 and
2013. Osman presented in New York for the first time in June 2014.
Attended by top-tier media and buyers from leading US retailers, this reflects
the brands ongoing development and expansion in key international markets.
Clean forms and exceptionally precise tailoring are integral to the timeless, elegant designs for which Osman has won a devoted fan base, while innovative cutting and masterful draping are design signatures. Inspired by his interest in abstract art, ethnicity, and the costume of ancient cultures, Osman similarly excels in his bold use of colour and hand-drawn print.

Osman produces a bi-annual collaborative journal, The Collective – a cross-disciplinary publication in which Osman draws on his own circle of fellow artists, writers and creative to explore the intersection of art and fashion in a stunning photographical series interwoven with insightful essays.
