Founded in Amsterdam
in 2008, DENHAM was established by internationally respected jeanmaker Jason
Denham.
Denham cut his cloth
in the workshop of Joe Casley-Hayford, a highly respected British fashion
designer renowned for combining sartorialism and anarchy. After 8 years working
within the denim industry, he set up his own denim consultancy Clinic+, before founding
the internationally respected premium jeans brand Blue Blood.
At the beginning of
2008, after extensive travel around Europe, USA and Japan, Jason was left with
the feeling that the world of denim was starting to lose some of its rightful
excitement. It was this feeling that led to the formation of the DENHAM label
in 2008 when he assembled a small team of passionate like-minded creatives and
set up the brand’s Amsterdam studio.

focused on balancing an intense commitment to progressive design against an
equally obsessive respect for jeans craft tradition.” The design team strive to
manifest a “jeanmaker” ethic of honest craftsmanship multiplied by fearless
experimentation and invention not only in every jean they create, but in every
garment in the line and every other aspect of the label.
Jason Denham’s
single-minded obsession with denim remains the primary inspiration for the
brand. “Our customer is not going to settle for less than jaw dropping, mouth
watering, gotta have pieces. The only way we know how to make them is to create
our own unique balance of deep authenticity, inventive contemporary detailing
and a distinctly modern attitude.”
Location
Denham’s international
design studio is located at 493 Prinsengracht in Amsterdam. It is directly
adjacent to the first men’s store so the team is able to see customers engaging
with their ideas everyday. The studio, showroom and head office functions are integrated
throughout an old canal house loaded with history and atmosphere. The
building’s 6 floors house the entire Denham operation including its Denim
Development Office, Design Studio & Art Department, Marketing Studio,
Denham Garment Library as well as its International Showrooms for mens and
womens collections.
Denham’s collections
can be found across the brand’s innovative Denham Retails Stores in many
countries, including Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, UK, Japan and Australia, as
well as in high profile wholesale accounts from the Bijenkorf in Amsterdam to
Lane Crawford in Hong Kong to American Rag and Barney’s in the USA.
In the UK, Denham's collections can be exclusively found at the brand's ultra cool store at 32 Charlotte Road in trendy Shorditch, as well as in Liberty London (Great Marlborough street), Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge and Peter Jones (Sloane Square).
